Corrections Policy
Mistakes happen. Here is exactly how we handle them when they do.
Reporting an error
If you believe something on SnakeReport is inaccurate, email corrections@snakereport.com. Please include the URL and a description of what you believe is wrong. Where possible, share a source we can verify.
How we triage
An editor reviews every correction request. We aim to acknowledge within five business days and either correct, decline, or follow up with questions.
Minor corrections
Small fixes — typos, broken links, formatting — are made silently.
Substantive corrections
If we change a factual claim, a product specification, a safety procedure, a ranking, or a quoted source, we add a dated correction note at the bottom of the article describing what was changed and why.
Retractions
If an article is fundamentally wrong and cannot be repaired with edits, we retract it. The original URL is kept live with a clear retraction notice rather than silently deleted.
Updates over time
We update product reviews when prices, availability, or specifications change. We update species and state guides when new research, regulations, or range data change the answer. Routine updates do not require a correction note.
